Lessons on using Facebook pixel and advanced matching

On our website, we use the Facebook pixel advertising tool from Facebook Ireland, Ltd., located at 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, for the following purposes:

  1. To measure and analyse activity on our website
  2. Targeting and measuring Facebook ads
  3. Advanced matching

The Facebook pixel allows us to measure and better understand the actions that visitors take on our website. With this information, we can better target our ads so that only the relevant ones are really shown, and then we can measure and analyze them. In addition, this tool allows us to set up so-called advanced matching. This works so that we can pass certain data about our website visitors to Facebook to further improve the relevance of our ads. Before this data is sent, it is encrypted (hashed) to ensure maximum protection. However, Facebook may pair it with users of this social network, specifically for the purpose of targeting our advertising. The data that we transfer to Facebook in this way is the data that you enter into the forms on our website (e.g. order or contact form, etc.).

When we transfer personal data, Facebook becomes an additional controller, otherwise it is our processor. All information on the processing of personal data by Facebook can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation or via your own user accounts.

Facebook pixel processes data from our website using marketing cookies. You can adjust the cookie settings on our website via the cookie bar or via your browser. You can find information on how Facebook works with cookies at the following address: https://www.facebook.com/policies/cookies/. In addition, you can also adjust the individual cookie processors, for example, here: https://www.youronlinechoices.com
